Immediately immerse the burnt skin in ice water to allow the burning sensation to stop or at lease diminish drastically. If done quickly, it may even prevent blistering of the skin.
Allow the skin to cool in the water and ice for about five minutes until throbbing ceases or lessens considerably.
Pat the burn dry and hold an ice pack covered in cloth on the area for 5-20 minutes, depending on the severity of the burn.
Aloe vera heals burns
When it comes to at home burn treatments, an Aloe vera plant is your best friend.
Aloe vera gel has incredible healing properties for skin damaged by burns, scrapes, scratches and minor abrasions.
For a simple, quick natural burn remedy, simply squeeze aloe vera gel from the plant leaf onto the affected skin. Cover with a bandage and change the dressing every few hours at first, less frequently as it heals.
Make an aloe burn remedy
Make an aloe-based burn remedy preparation to speed healing. Since it will keep for about two months in the fridge, make this now and keep it on hand for little burns and skin damage. This is great for sunburn, too.
Mix in blender:
3/4 cup peeled, sliced aloe vera leaf
1200 mg powdered vitamin C
1000 IU vitamin E oil
1/2 teaspoon lavender essential oil
Apply this to the burn several times daily.
Natural remedies for burns
Try calendula gel for good at-home treatment for burns. Find calendula gel online and in health food stores.
Apply the gel to the affected are and cover with a bandage. Change the bandage several times a day, putting on fresh gel at each change.

Just burnt myself with boiling water, Have got an aloe vera outside and I have to agree, it is one of the best things for burns!!! Great stuff this aloe.

Aloe vera! I wish I had some when I burnt my hand a few weeks ago making cookies. I had to use neosporin.
